Manchester United have easily been the best team in the English Premier League this season with a display of consistency that nobody could get close to matching. Yesterday, they had their coronation, clinching the Premier League title with a 3-0 domination of Aston Villa, thanks to a first half hat trick by Robin van Persie.

It only took a minute and 20 seconds for United to go ahead of Aston Villa, who are in danger of finishing in the bottom three places in the league, which would result in them being sent down to a lower division.

With the hat trick, van Persie went ahead of Liverpool's Luis Suarez for the goal scoring lead in Premier League competition, and his second goal may have been the best goal in the EPL this year, as he didn't even let the ball touch the ground while smashing it past Villa goalie Brad Guzan, the keeper for the US National team in the place of Tim Howard.

The championship is United's 20th in the top division of English football, and helps to ease the pain of last year's outcome, in which they lost the championship to rivals Manchester City on the last kick of the last minute of the season.
