It's been a great week at 1045theteam.com as we've tracked the Section II alumni who are on their way to Spring Training.

We've talked with Matt Gage (Broadalbin-Perth/Siena), JP Sportman (La Salle), and Brian O'Keefe (Colonie) thus far, and today, we talked with Maple Hill product Jaime Schultz.

Schultz, a 2013 draft pick of the Rays, dominated in full season A-Ball with the Bowling Green Hot Rods. He went 2-1 with a 1.95 ERA in 60 innings. Armed with a plus-90s fastball, he struck out 79 batters in those 60 innings.

He joined us today to talk about what Spring Training is really like, the quirkiness of ex-Rays manager Joe Maddon, his role with Rays, and he shared some advice for players in Section II that play at smaller schools.
