On Friday afternoon, the Maple Hill boys' soccer team defeated Hudson by a score of 5-0. But the win was much bigger than just the first win of the season for the Wildcats.

It was the 600th win in the career of head coach Dan Gillespie. He's been at the helm of the program since 1974 and is now in his 41st season.

He's led the Wildcats to three state titles and is the all-time winningest coach in Section II history.

He joined us today to talk about the accomplishment and how the game has changed over 41 years.

The humble sideline general also answered the question, "Have you sat and reflected just how many wins that really is?"

As a former high school and collegiate athlete myself, it is amazing the kind of commitment, passion, and longevity that is needed to accumulate such a record.

From everyone here at 104.5 The Team, congratulations to Coach Gillespie and the Wildcats!
