Oregon Quarterback Marcus Mariota was drafted to the Tennessee Titans at pick No.2.

Mariota finished his career at Oregoon with a 36-5 record. In a stellar 2014 season Mariota won the Heisman Trophy and the Davey O’Brien award for the nation’s best quarterback. He threw for 4,454 yards and 42 touchdowns, and ran for 750 yards and 15 touchdowns. He even had one receiving touchdown.

Mariota defeated Jameis Winston and Florida State in the first game of the inaugural College Football Playoff, but fell to Ohio State in the championship game.

Mariota is a native of Honolulu, Hawaii. Although Mariota has an extremely high ceiling, he is regarded as a “project” quarterback that needs to learn an offense before being handed the starting job.

The Philadelphia Eagles and former Oregon coach Chip Kelly tried mightily to move up and take snag the pick from the Titans. But at the end of the day, Tennessee was sold on Mariota as their quarterback of the future.
