Chris Heston, making just his 13th career major league start, no-hit the New York Mets on Tuesday night at Citi Field. The Giants won 5-0, with Heston throwing the 17th no-no in franchise history.

Using a good curveball and good movement on his fastball, Heston kept the Mets off-balance. The only runners to reach for NY did so via the hit batter.

Heston is a 27-year-old rookie, so it's good to see a story like that. It's the first no-hitter in the majors this season and the fourth straight year in which a Giants hurler has thrown one.

Taking the loss for the Mets was Noah Syndergaard. He went six innings and allowed four earned runs.

The Giants scored a run in the first inning to take a 1-0 lead, and then added two more in the fourth before tacking on a run each in the sixth and seventh.

The Mets are now 31-28 and have a half game lead on the Nationals in the NL East.
