Fred Wilpon, the principal owner of the New York Mets, made some ridiculous statements about his own team.

Can somebody tell Fred Wilpon that ripping your own team publicly is kind of a bad idea?  I don't know if this guy woke up on the wrong side of the bed or what, but it's never a good idea to devalue your own players.  It really makes no sense to devalue your own players with a little something called the trade deadline right around the corner.

This should be Sports Owner 101.  Don't crack on your own guys!  Apparently, Fred Wilpon never read the handbook about not being a bozo when speaking on the record.  He made serveral critical statements about his team to The New Yorker magazine.  Not smart Freddie.  Not smart.
