Many have said of Zach Wheeler that he is the best pitching prospect in the minor leagues. The hype is huge. The expectations are enormous. And the Mets are cautious.

Wheeler strained his oblique taking batting practice. This is big news around Port St.Lucie make no mistake. The Mets say they are being careful and they should be.

According to Mets manager Terry Collins the club will be very careful with Wheeler. As of now the plan is to have him start the season at AAA Vegas.

Wheeler told Collins he could go right now if their was a ballgame, a regular season game to be played so by all indications there is nothing for Mets fans to be alarmed about. Collins said " We are going to be very very careful because we are not going to be doing anything to hurt this guy."

The Mets right now are leaning toward skipping Wheeler's next start
