With the NBA All-Star roster being announced last night. Means it's time for us to reflect on the NBA at the mid-season point, and give out some Mid-Season Awards.

MVP: KEVIN DURANT

- Finally, we once again have a MVP race in the NBA. Lebron James deservingly  has been the MVP the past two seasons. If not for Kevin Durants heroic play every night he has a basketball in his hand, Lebron James may be looking at the tri-fecta.  When Russel Westbrook was announced out indefinitely as he got his 3rd knee surgery since April, Kevin Durant stood up and didn't just answer the bell he took the bell and shot it thirty feet and SWISHED IT! Kevin Durant  has the OKC Thunder sitting first in the Western Conference at 33-10 and has done it in a stellar fashion averaging 31 ppg . And while Lebron James is sitting there jealous of the freedom Kevin Durant gets shooting, Durant is showing the NBA  why he is the best offensive player since Allen Iverson and could go down as the best scorer ever.

Prediction - OKC gets the one seed in the West-Kevin Durant Takes MVP honors and a trip to the NBA Finals representing the West.

ROY- Michael Carter-Williams

The EX- inconsistent Syracuse Guard has elevated his game to an All-Star level! Many know this past draft was one of the poorest in quality in a long time. This no way takes the shine away from MCW who leads all rookies in both points (17.5) and assist (6.9) while handing out 9 Double -Doubles and 1 Triple-Double.

Projection- Takes home honors of Rookie of the Year & Philly grabs the 8th seed in the AWFUL Eastern Conference.

Coach of the Year- Jeff Hornacek (Phoenix Suns)

Many of you are asking who is this guy. This is the guy that is taking a young team led by Goran Dragic and the Morris twins to the seventh seed in the gritty Western Conference. He has put confidence in a team that may lack star power, but excels in team play and Run N' Gun offense.

Prediction-  After losing Eric Bledsoe to injury! The suns fall out of playoff contention as teams such as Minnesota, Lakers, and the Memphis Grizzlies step it up in the second half to make that Playoff push.
