It's fine with me if interleague baseball is played throughout the entire season.  Baseball purist guy would disagree.

It sounds like there will be realignment in Major League Baseball soon.  There would be 15 teams in both the American League and the National League.  Currently, there are 16 teams in the NL while there are 14 teams in the AL.  If realignment occurs, it would mean that interleague baseball would take place throughout the entire baseball season.

Baseball purists hate the idea of interleague baseball throughout the entire season.  It's interesting that other leagues (like the NFL and NBA) basically have interleague play all season long and it's a non-issue.  Teams from different conferences face each other throughout the season.  It doesn't make sense for fans to have a huge issue with interleague play occurring throughout the entire season in baseball when they don't have any issue with it in other sports.
