Los Angeles Clippers' PA announcer David Courtney made a giant-sized boo boo on Friday night.

Chanucey Billups was not active for the Los Angeles Clippers' 114-101 loss to the Chicago Bulls on Friday night.  Billups was out with a sore groin.  This was news to Clippers' PA announcer David Courtney though.  He accidentally announced Mo Williams as Chauncey Billups.  Whoops.

Mo Williams did a good job of taking the mistake in stride.  He laughed it off and had some fun with it.  What's really odd about Courtney's mishap is that he announced Mo Willams' number and school correctly before accidentally announcing Chauncey Billups' name.  This makes the mistake even worse.  If he was more familiar with the fact that Chaucey Billups is #1 and went to Colorado (not #25 from Alabama) he might have been able to catch himself at the very end.  What a horrid mistake.

Initially, I thought I might be overreacting, but consider this; it's like an NFL kicker who has only one job; kick the ball through the uprights.  Your one job as an NBA announcer is to announce the teams correctly (especially the home team).  Is that too much to ask for?  Of course not.  Shame on this David Courtney dude.  Get it right.  It's not exactly brain surgery, bud.
