The New York Yankees lose to the Toronto Blue Jays 7-1 on Friday night thanks to another poor starting pitching performance by their starter and poor defense. Many thought their last game was a bad game, but back-to-back poor performances by the Yanks are beginning to make people question the team heading into trade deadline season.

So what now is needed come trade deadline time? What moves should be made?

Freddy Garcia was the latest to turn in the sub-par performance on Friday night. He went 5 inning giving up 7 hits, 6 runs (5 earned), 4 walks and 5 strikeouts. In addition, two more Yankee errors were made, with another throwing error by Russell Martin behind the plate, the latest in a string of poor throws by the Yankees starting catcher, and a mishap in the outfield by Curtis Granderson.

We all know the Yankees can use a starter for their rotation. But with Bartolo Colon AND Freddy Garcia both tossing sub-par performances, perhaps the Yankees need more come trade deadline time. There's now also some concern in the Yankees infield with A-Rod out with the knee injury, they are relying on Eduardo Nunez to take over. Perhaps a veteran will be added to boost the bench and defense down the stretch.

Brian Cashman has a lot of decisions to make. Even the bullpen isn't a sure thing as Sergio Mitre continues to disappoint and can't find his groove, giving up yet another run Friday night. Perhaps Ivan Nova will be back in the mix or perhaps they'll turn back to their minor league system for help. It'll be interesting to see what the Yanks do at the end of this month!
