With all the hype around newly-drafted Capital Region baseball players Ian Anderson, Garrett Whitley and Jeff Hoffman, sometimes you forget about the guys who have been in affiliated baseball for a while now, like 2006 Shen grad Murphy Smith.

But you shouldn't be sleeping on Smith, who is quietly putting together a nice season for the Blue Jays AA affiliate in New Hampshire. Smith was named to the Eastern League all-star team after posting a 3-3 record with a 1.54 ERA in the first half.

Smith joined us today on 'Big Board Sports' with Rodger Wyland to talk about his road in professional baseball, what's worked for him this season, Minor League pay wages, arm issues in baseball and why he's still playing in the minors at the age of 28 when others may doubt his chances of making the Big Leagues.
