Yesterday, Shaquille O'Neal finally called it an NBA career as he officially retired.  Shaq leaves the game with 4 NBA championships and is 5th on the league's all-time scoring list.

But O'Neal was known for more than just being a great basketball player - he was truly an entertainer.  With that said, there's one moment of his career that makes me say, "Wow!"

It happened back during his rookie year with the Orlando Magic.  The date was April 23rd, 1993 in a game against the New Jersey Nets at the Meadowlands.  Shaq pulled down the entire basket.  Yes - that's right, the rim, the backboard, the supports, the entire thing.

It was that moment of his career when I realized, “Wow, that’s a really big, strong dude.”  Guys have broken the backboard before (Darryl Dawkins) but no one had ever taken the entire thing down - now that was funny!
