The big story of this weeks race at Indy is of course Jeff Gordon taking the wheel of the # 88 Hendrick Chevy for an ailing Dale Earnhardt Jr. Junior is still suffering from concussion symptoms and will be out at least this week and the following week for the race at Pocono. A unexpected bonus for Gordon fans who may want to make the trek to Pennsylvania to see him race before re-retiring.

Kyle Bush is the defending race winner at Indy and although the JGR teams have been strong all year, I can't help but think Hendrick will have a car in the winners circle.

This weeks race may have the longest name of any race EVER, but it's all for a great cause. This weeks Crown Royal presents the Combat Wounded Coalition 400 at the Brickyard, will be a battle of both horsepower and endurance. With the forecast calling for highs in the mid to upper 90s and a heat index reaching 110, everyone will be fighting to keep cool. Expect a slick track along with equipment failures due to the high heat.

My pick for the week:

# 48 Jimmie Johnson
