NASCAR News And Notes: Kyle Busch, Jeremy Mayfield And More

A few news and notes from this week in NASCAR.

The big news in NASCAR last weekend wasn't Tony Stewart winning his fourth race in the chase for the Sprint Cup. It was Kyle Busch's actions in the Truck race and his suspension from any races for the rest of the weekend. Now the sponsor of his Nationwide car wants him out for the final race next weekend.

Z-Line Designs which sponsors the car asked Joe Gibbs Racing to replace Busch with Denny Hamilin in the final race of the season in Homestead, Florida next weekend. Joe Gibbs Racing is still up in the air as to letting Busch drive at all for the rest of the season in any capacity whether it be Spint Cup, Nationwide or Trucks. NASCAR has cleared Busch to race but fined him $50,000 and put him on probation for the rest of the year.

Update (11/11): Kyle Busch has been dropped by his primary Sprint Cup sponsor M&M's. Interstate Batteries will sponsor his car this weekend in Phoenix.

On Monday, a North Carolina grand jury  has indicted former NASCAR driver Jeremy Mayfield on charges of possessing methamphetamine. Last week. Mayfield was arrested following a raid of his home where the drugs were found along with firearms and alleged stolen property.

Finally, this weekend to honor Veterans during Veterans Day Weekend in Phoenix. Clint Bowyer will drive a car with a special USO paint scheme with the words "Send Cheer" to encourage fans to send thanks to our military and their families currently overseas. JJ Yeley's #38 Ford will also have a special paint scheme that was designed by a disabled veteran Scott Bates.
