Washington Nationals' catcher Wilson Ramos has been rescued safely in Venezuela.

Two days ago Wilson Ramos was taken away by several armed men while at his home in Venezuela. Ramos had been at his mother's home visiting family and friends when the abduction took place.

This has not been the first incident in Venezuela involving an abduction and a high-profile individual.  According to ESPN.com, since 2004,  three major league players  had relatives kidnapped. In 2009, the mother of Victor Zambrano was rescued after a similar kidnapping incident.

Ramos is one of the rising stars of the Washington Nationals. During his rookie year this past season for the Nats, Ramos  hit .267 with 15 home runs and 52 RBIs in 113 games. He also threw out 19 of 67 base runners.
