Nationals Name Davey Johnson New Manager

Last week the red hot Washington Nationals were rocked when their manager Jim Riggleman up and quit.  They now have a brand new skipper and it's one that Met fans in the area may know and love.

Davey Johnson hasn't managed in the MLB since 2000 when the Dodgers decided to send him packing.  Now, the Washington Nationals have decided to give the 68 year old a shot once again.  Johnson is set to officially take over as Nationals skipper on Monday when the team comes to Los Angeles.

Met fans remember Johnson as the skipper of the team from 1984-1990 and in between there he even led the team to a World Series victory.  The Nationals are hoping for some of that magic to come to them.

The Nationals lost to the Chicago White Sox yesterday 3-0, but before that they had won 4 in a row and before that 8 in a row.  They have battled from last place all the way up to third place in the NL East.  Johnson may just be what this team needs to really challenge the Braves and Phillies.
