After one of the lowest scoring seasons in men's college basketball history, the NCAA has adopted new rules for the 2015-2016 season.

The Duke Blue Devils cut down the nets this past April as the national champions. Coach K along with the rest of the coaches in college basketball will have to adapt to the new rules implemented for the 2015-2016 season which were announced this week. The 35 second shot clock has been reduced to 30 seconds. The hope is that with more possessions, scoring will increase across the nation. The last time the shot clock was reduced was in 1993-1994 when it shifted from 45 seconds to 35 seconds. Women's basketball already uses a 30 second shot clock. Coaches will now have just four timeouts per half instead of five (with no more than three carrying over from the first to the second half). All of the rules changes are in hopes to improve the popularity of the sport including even a rule involving pre-game warm-ups. Players from both rosters are now allowed to dunk during pre-game warmups. In the past players that dunked at any time 20 minutes before tip off drew their team a technical foul. Coach Will Brown and his Albany Great Danes will start their quest towards a fourth straight NCAA tournament bid in November.
