The NCAA has done a lot of stupid things throughout the years. The one thing they really had going for them as far as basketball was concerned was the NCAA tournament. Then They Changed it, adding more teams and re-naming each round of the tournament, confusing many of the casual fans.

Finally, order has been restored. The NCAA has now re-named the rounds of the tournament to what they actually should be. The round of 64, previously known as the second round of the tournament, will now be called the first round. As it should be called. The four play-in games that were previously called the first round are now going to be called the First Four.

This should clarify a bit of the confusion for casual fans that really just pay attention to college basketball come tournament time in order to fill out a bracket. Hopefully this is a start to many changes the NCAA makes as far as college basketball is concerned.
