New Jersey Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov and general manager Billy King speak about the decision to discontinue their attempt to work out a trade with the Denver Nuggets for superstar Carmelo Anthony.

First thought: How cool is this guy? Mark Cuban needs to move aside at the NBA’s most interesting owner.

Second: Great move by the Nets front office.  Prokhorov is an insanely successful businessman, so if he thinks that this trade has become juice that is simply not worth the squeeze, then I’m going to go out on a limb and trust his judgment.

Prokhorov went on to say:

You know, I never met with Carmelo and I never spoke with him…maybe he sent me an email, but really I don’t use computer and that’s why maybe I have missed it. Or maybe the carrier pigeon got lost.
