It was a rematch that was 18 years in the making.  The outcome however was much different this time.  The Devils hang on in overtime to beat the Rangers 3-2.

The New Jersey Devils were underdogs throughout their entire playoff run so far.  They have now done what some thought was impossible.  They beat the New York Rangers 3-2, and advance to the Stanley Cup finals to face the Los Angeles Kings.

Adam Henrique scored the game winning OT goal.  The third goal that got by Ranger goalie Henrick Lundqvist.  This series seemed to take a toll on Lundqvist who was not playing like his usual self.  Now the Rangers remarkable season has come to an end.  The Devils are off to the Stanley Cup Finals for the fifth time in franchise history, and are looking for a fourth Stanley Cup.
