I got my brand spankin' new New York State driver's license in the mail this week. Since I'm unaware of what the old ones looked like, I've been taken back when the reaction I've gotten every time I've had to show it is, "Whoa! This is the new license!?"

New York unveiled the new licenses earlier this year. It has new features including laser-engraved photos and data, two photos on the front of the license, and raised letters and numbers.

When I was at the airport last weekend, the guy at security scoped it over with his magnified glass for over a minute, "You have no idea the kind of stuff I know about you now."

I'm assuming it doesn't have all of my speeding tickets digitally engraved into the license - it would need to be a little larger of a license if that were the case.
