This past weekend, the Kansas City Chiefs released former UAlbany tight end Brian Parker. That move by the Chiefs did not signal the end of Parker's playing career. Earlier today the New York Jets signed Parker to their fifty three man roster. Parker along with three other players were signed, thus forcing the Jets to need to make roster moves including releasing four other players who are currently on their roster. Parker's arrival comes following the release of Jace Amaro, a former second round draft pick and fellow tight end who did not live up to expectations after a stellar career in college at Texas Tech. Parker will be competing along with Brandon Bostick, Kellen Davis and a fellow recent free agent signing Braedon Bowman for playing time at the tight end position. Along with Parker and Bowman, the Jets signed running back Troymaine Pope and cornerback Darryl Roberts. The New York Jets kick off their regular season Sunday afternoon against the Cincinnati Bengals. Your home for New York Jets football this season in the capital region is 1045 The Team.
