After a stellar freshman season that saw him land on the MAAC all-rookie team, Siena guard Nico Clareth has hit a bit of rough patch this summer.

Obviously, three months would be a Sept. 1 recovery date and would not cause Clareth to miss any of the season or the preparation for the season, but he won't travel to Croatia this offseason with some of the team.

Clareth averaged 13.1 ppg this season and helped Siena advance to the semifinals of the MAAC Tournament before losing to Iona, who won the tournament title. He's an electrifying player, with the athleticism to beat you off the dribble or for a dunk, but he can also shoot the ball well from outside.

With big men Javion Ogunyemi and Brett Bisping back in 2016-17, and Lavon Long and Marquis Wright also returning, look for Jimmy Patsos' team to be at the forefront of the conversation for preseason MAAC champion.
