Sophomore Lucas Quinn had five goals, senior Aidan O'Brien had three, and the Niskayuna boys' lacrosse team topped Syosset to head to the New York State Class A title game.

The 14-11 Silver Warriors' win moves Niskayuna to 20-2 overall. Syosset finishes the year 18-2.

Niskayuna will play for it's first state title on Saturday afternoon against West Genesee. Game time is 1:30 p.m. at Vestal High School.

"We play for our seniors," O'Brien told the Times Union. "No one wanted this to be our last game. Fourth year here in a row, we knew what we needed to do. The seniors stepped up. We were leaders, every single one of us."

Niskayuna last played for the state title in 2009. They also played for the title in 2005.

Yesterday, we spoke to Niskayuna lacrosse coach Mike Vorgang, who said that goalie play would be a major factor in yesterday's game. Well, goalie Nick Testa had 15 saves.
