We may be months away from the start of the college lacrosse season, but that doesn't mean it's too early to start talking about preseason all-conference teams:

That's former Niskayuna standout Luke Goldstock getting recognition in the ACC. He had 67 points last year, including a whopping 50 goals. That point total was third on a Tar Heels roster that went 13-4 a season ago.

According to the Tar Heels website, Goldstock was a three-year varsity standout for Niskayuna and was named a 2012 Under Armour All-American. He was named the Times Union Player of the Year in both his junior and senior years. He had 193 goals in his high school career.

UNC starts its season on Feb. 6 when they host Michigan. They then host Furman and Hofstra before playing perennial power Johns Hopkins.

Goldstock figures to be a major piece of a Tar Heels' roster that is always a threat to compete for a national championship. The ACC is an incredibly difficult conference, with UNC, Virginia, Syracuse, Duke and Notre Dame all contenders.
