Nnamdi Asomugha  is headed to the NFC East.

The All-Pro defensive back has decided to join the Philadelphia Eagles.

Asomugha agreed to a 5 year deal worth $60 million with $25 million guaranteed.

The New York Jets put all of their efforts into signing the former Oakland Raiders cornerback but in the end, Nnamdi said, "No thanks."  Asomugha's decision leaves the Jets with a gaping hole in their defense, but they will move immediately to try to re-sign free agent Antonio Cromartie, who started opposite Revis last season.

The San Francisco 49ers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Houston Texans were involved at various points.

This is exactly what the Eagles need to compete with the deep passing game of Dallas.  This also helps Asomugha with his post playing career - he has stated that he has wanted to get into acting and broadcasting when his career is all said and done. The amount of press he will receive playing in the most popular division in the NFL will definitely push him in that direction.

Asomugha is known for being a good teammate and his generosity towards the community. He has organized many events for the youth in Oakland, California and his charitable ways won’t stop in Philly.
