Last year during his rookie season, New York Giants safety Will Hill was suspended 4 games for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances, which Hill claimed was due to taking the drug Adderall (the most common excuse of 2013). But today, the league announced that Hill is suspended 4 games once again, this time for the "Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse."

If Hill was correct about what caused his suspension last season, that would also apply for this second suspension as well. However, I personally would find that hard to believe, because one would think they would give Hill a 2nd offense against the PED policy rather than a 1st offense against the Substance Abuse policy.

With that being said, one can only begin to speculate what kind of substance might be involved this time around: marijuana, cocaine, maybe something worse? Regardless, the 23-year-old will be eligible to participate in training camp and preseason games, which all begins next week at the Timex Performance Center in East Rutherford. The first game Hill would be eligible for, barring a successful appeal, would be October 6th against the Philadelphia Eagles.
