On Friday morning, Dwight Howard will undergo back surgery putting his 2011-2012 season to an end.  It’s for sure a big blow to his team, who will no doubt have a short run in the playoffs with him out.

Howard has been dealing with various back problems since March, and has decided to take measures to correct a herniated disc.  He says that he is not worried about the long term effects of the surgery.  He can begin fully participating in workouts three to four months after the surgery.
