The New York Giants have been playing hard ball with Defensive End Osi Umenyiora over the last few weeks.  Now after weeks of negotiations for a new contract have gone no where, Osi has decided that he will be joining the Giants at their training camp facilities beginning today.  He is practicing, but he is definitely not happy with his current deal.

The Giants did make offers, but Osi rejected them calling them unacceptable.

What has been offered has been unacceptable and shows they don't really respect the fact I sacrifice my health for the franchise. I will play under my current deal because I love and respect my coaches, my teammates, the fans, and myself. Not for those incentives.

No one is saying exactly how much money the Giants did offer Osi, but according to ESPN NFL analyst John Clayton it would have only gone into effect if Osi had 13.5 sacks for the last 2 years of his current contract.  Osi has only had 13.5 sacks in one season so far since playing in the NFL.
