The so-called "Fight of the Century" is apparently going to cost you a hefty price should you decide to watch it on Pay-Per-View.  Both HBO and Showtime have reportedly released the pricing for the highly anticipated fight.  Pricing for standard definition of the fight will be $89.95, but if you want high definition expect another charge of $10 which is at the discretion of the television provider.  This price is a new record for pay-per-view.

Why is the pricing so high you might ask?  Well, why not?  People are going to buy the fight either way so why wouldn't the pricing be extremely high?  The previous high for a Pay-Per-View fight was $64.95; that's a 40% increase that buyers will have to pay in order to watch the battle between two of the best boxers of all-time.

The previous high for a Pay-Per-View revenue was Mayweather vs Canelo Alvarez in September 2013 where they racked up a whopping $152M.  This fight is expected to blow that number out of the water.  For those of you who can't afford to purchase the fight via pay-per-view, many restaurants and bars will absorb the legal occupancy costs in order to draw people to their respective businesses in hopes that they can make up for the costs.

The anticipation for the fight is building immensely and with the fight nearing closer with each passing day, and with this announcement, the excitement level is at an all-time high.

Either way, this fight is worth watching.
