They seem to be coming fast and furious. Matt Cain of the San Francisco tossed a perfecto at the Houston Astros as the Giants blast the Stros 10-0.

Amazingly it is the 1st perfect game ever for the Giants. Cain also tied a record in a perfect game by striking out 14 batters. Sandy Koufax also holds a piece of that record.

As usual in  perfect or no hit game the Giants defense made some sharp plays. In the 7th inning  right fielder Gregor Blanco made a spectacular diving catch to help  preserve history.

Jason Castro will go in the record book as the final out. Castro grounded out 3rd to 1st to end the ballgame. Even this play was a little frieghtening as Castro hit it well down the line. 3rd baseman Joaquin Arias made a nice play on a solid hop and Brandon Belt made a nice "neighborhood" grab to finish the game and set off the celebration.

In the 6th inning left fielder Melky Cabrera made a tremendous play jumping at the wall to  take away a hit for Chris Snyder.

This is the 2nd perfect game this year as Cain Joined White Sox pitcher Philip Humber. Overall it is the 5th no hit game already and the 3rd in June. Mets pitcher Johan Santana no hit the Cardinals just about 2 weeks ago.
