The highly anticipated arrival of New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul to the organization following his fireworks accident that cost him his right index finger is finally over.  ESPN NFL insider and our guest on Monday's, Adam Schefter reported that the star pass rusher will report to the team today and take his first physical since the accident.

Pierre-Paul was injured July 4th weekend when fireworks exploded in his hands, forcing him to have his finger amputated; which would actually accelerate his recovery period so he could play sooner.  This is the first time the team will be able to analyze Pierre-Paul's hand.

Pierre-Paul's $14.8M franchise tender is still on the table as the Giants look to examine their injured star.  Once he signs the tender, it is most likely that Pierre-Paul will be placed on the non-football injury list, which in turn could lead to him not being paid for the first six weeks of the regular season.

Pierre-Paul is expected to practice with the team soon, but is unlikely to play week 1 against the Dallas Cowboys.
