Yesterday, the big news broke that Guilderland native and former Dutchmen star Andrew Platek was going to play his college basketball at the University of North Carolina.

Platek left the Capital Region after his junior season to attend prep school at Northfield Mount Hermon. He's a shooter, prolific from behind-the-arc, and can help a UNC program that advanced to the national championship game this season, but struggled to shoot the ball from deep.

We brought in Clint Jackson of Rivals.com today to break down Platek's decision: Why is he a good fit? What are his chances to contribute early on in his career? Will Platek be a player that can go to the hole and handle the ball, or will he mainly stay on the perimeter?

How is his defensive game? Can he handle defensive assignments at that level? And is the Northeast getting more respect on the recruiting trail?
