Two of our four regional NFL teams have high expectations going into the 2017 season. For the Giants, missing the postseason would be a disappointment. For the Patriots, it would be a shock; to them and everyone else who even knows the slightest about football.

The outlook for the Jets and Bills is the complete opposite. Not that any player or coach would ever openly admit it, but the rosters in New York and Buffalo simply don't give either franchise much of an opportunity to make the playoffs this year and that isn't necessarily a bad thing. Ending the postseason drought in Buffalo sooner than later would be a relief, of course, but with a relatively new ownership and now a brand new coaching staff and philosophy, there is a clear rebuild happening. The Jets, meanwhile are poised to be a top contender for the number 1 pick in next year's draft.

For an expert's opinion, we turned to Sports Illustrated's Ben Baskin.
