The Yankees have some explaining to do, because you can’t fire your manager after an overachieving season that ended a win away from the World Series. Girardi isn’t invited back because he took his team to Game 7 of the ALCS and completed a 10 year run in New York with a winning record every season. Not renewing Girardi’s contract makes no sense, especially when consider how much the players and especially the young core enjoyed playing for Girardi. Yankees know best, but the next manager has some big shoes to fill when the expectations next season will be World Series or bust.
