The Kentucky Derby is the pinnacle of the horse racing world for three year old horses. This year will be the 144th Kentucky Derby and it will include a name you are familiar with... Gronkowski! Yes, a play off the New England Patriots Tight End Rob Gronkowski, has qualified for the Kentucky Derby through the prep races in England.

Most fans know the road to the Kentucky Derby prep races in America. From races such as the Florida Derby (which is being run this weekend at Gulfstream Park) and the Santa Anita Derby (April 7th), but there has been an expansion on allowing horses from other countries to run in the Derby. Japan has a reserved spot in the starting gate of 20 through their qualifying series and now England has been given their own series.

Gronkowski is on a three race winning streak and will certainly take some money on Derby day but the question might be...how big of a posse will Rob Gronkowski bring to Churchill Downs?
