The Oakland Raiders started the 2011 football season right where they left off last season, beating their division opponents.  It was a close game, but the Raiders walk away with the victory.

The Oakland Raiders can thank the foot of kicker Sebastian Janikowski for their win in Denver on Monday Night Football.  Final score 23-20.  Janikowski kicked a total of three field goals last night, one of those  a63 yarder that sailed right down the middle.  Only two other players in NFL history have made a 63 yard kick, Jason Elam in 1998 (which also took place in Denver) and Tom Dempsey in 1970.

While Janikowski deserves much of the credit, Jason Campbell rushed in for a TD to put the Raiders up 23-13 in the fourth quarter and RB Darren McFadden had a great night rushing for 150 yards.  Denver had no answer for McFadden's rush game.  Knowshon Moreno only rushed for 22 yards fro the Broncos, and he was the team leader.

The Denver crowd who was very much in love with QB Kyle Orton this off season, was cheering for Tim Tebow by the end of the game.  Orton didn't have a terrible game though.  he threw for over 300 yards, 1 TD and 1 int.  Denver head coach John Fox was asked after the game if he would consider a QB change, a question that he ignored.
