Raiders Owner Al Davis Dead at 82

The often controversial and outspoken owner of the Oakland Raiders has passed away at the age of 82.  No cause of death yet determined.

One thing can be said about Al Davis, he did what he wanted.   The news just broke that the owner of the Oakland Raiders passed away and right now there are no details as to where or when he died.  he was 82 years old.

Davis was a coach for many years and also the AFL commissioner in 1966 and became the principal owner of the Oakland Raiders in 1972 and ran the team until this day.  he helped turn the NFL into what it is today.  Earlier this year their were rumors that davis had been hospitalized due to health problems, but the team dismissed those rumors. The Raiders said that they will be issuing an official statement later today.
