The New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox had to postpone the latest chapter on their famed rivalry for a game on Sunday night following their already scheduled match up on Sunday afternoon.  That will give Freddy Garcia his chance to shine today against Jon Lester for their Saturday afternoon game.

Sunday will see AJ Burnett and Ivan Nova on the mound for the Yankees while the Sox will send Time Wakefield and John Wakefield.

The rain not only delayed Friday's game but also the ceremony honoring the 50th anniversary of Roger Maris' 61 home run season.  Stadium officials have asked that the fans take their seats by 3:20p today and the ceremony will start promptly at 3:35p.

The Red Sox have an opportunity to gain some ground of the Rays in the AL wild card race. Last night the Rays lost to the Blue Jays 5-1.  Tampa Bay now slips to 2.5 back of the Sox.
