The New York Rangers suffered another devastating defeat last night at the hands of the New York Islanders. After a flurry of goals in the first period that had the Rangers down 4-3, Derick Brassard knotted things up with a goal midway through the 3rd period.

Tied at 4 with a face-off in their own zone, Derek Stepan lost the face-off to Casey Cizikas. The puck ended up on the stick of Cal Clutterbuck who went top shelf on Rangers goaltender Antti Raanta for what would be the game winner. The Isles added an empty netter after the Rangers pulled Raanta.

Eric Staal had his first goal as a member of the Rangers in the loss while he also won 20 of 22 face-offs.

The Rangers have lost all three games to the Islanders this season and will end their season series on April 7th. The two teams are likely to meet in the first round of the playoffs next month.
