Texas Rangers starter Cole Hamels was dealing against the Yankees last night in their 7-1 win over New York. Hamels went seven innings and struck out seven Yankees in his dominating performance where he scattered six Yankees hits.

"Just a masterful job by Cole," Rangers manager Jeff Banister said. "We know that if we can get him a lead, he pitches very well from in front. He controls the game."

Yankees starter C.C. Sabathia continued his decent pitching for the club this year, but got into a mess late and was chased by a Prince Fielder RBI-double in the 8th inning.

"Just a frustrating night," Sabathia said. "If I can either make the play or get out of the way, I have a double play right there."

Perhaps the biggest blow, or scare rather, to the Yankees was when Carlos Beltran looked to injure himself. Beltran reportedly left with a tight hamstring and is day-to-day.

The Rangers have now won 15 of their last 18 road games and five straight at Yankee Stadium as they continue their stellar season as they lead the AL West.

The Yankees now turn to Masahiro Tanaka to steal a game in this series as the Yankees look to get to young Rangers starter Nick Martinez.
