The New York Rangers placed Jarret Stoll on waivers Monday, after the long shot signing showed a lack of production. He joined the Rangers this summer excited about a second chance, after not having his contract renewed with the Los Angeles Kings, two months after being arrested for have ecstasy at a Las Vegas pool.

Head coach Alain Vigneault, hopes this isn't the end for the player. "After discussing it in length here over the last couple of days, we figured that Jarret’s a two-time Stanley Cup winner,” Vigneault said. “By putting him on waivers, maybe a team picks him up and gives him another opportunity.”

If no one claims Stoll by noon Tuesday, the most likely scenario is him being sent down to the Rangers AHL team, in Hartford.
