Find out how Phil Hughes looked in his bullpen debut.

The Yankees had trouble finding some pitching as they relied on Hector Noesi to get the start. Noesi went 2 innings giving up 5 hits, 3 runs, walking 2 and striking out 1. Raul Valdez made another audition for the Yankees as a lefty reliever out of the bullpen. He got some important outs in his appearance as he went 2 inning giving up 2 hits, one run (a Shoppach solo shot), no walks, and striking out two. Valdez could make the post season roster as a second lefty reliever along side Boone Logan who has been struggling as of late.

Phil Hughes made his 2011 bullpen debut going 1 2/3 innings giving up 1 hit, walking 2, and striking out 1. Hughes is hoping to find his 2009 luster and be a force out of the bullpen in the upcoming playoffs.

Robinson Cano was the offensive star of the game going 2-4 with 2 RBI including a long solo home run. Cano now has 118 RBI on the season and making his case as a strong MVP candidate along with Curtis Granderson.

The Yankees will send out to the mound Bartolo Colon on Tuesday while the Rays will counter with Jeremy Hellickson. It is still unknown who the Yankees will start on the final game of the season Wednesday night. More than likely he'll use up his non-essential relievers out of the bullpen to cover the innings.
