If there's an NFL season or even an NFL training camp, the Tampa Bay Buccanneers are the early favorite to be the featured team on HBO's Hard Knocks.

But my vote is for the Washington Redskins - and not because I'm a fan.

The Redskins are a train wreck.  And train wrecks make for good television.

I want to watch how Head Coach Mike Shanahan can rationalize benching Donovan McNabb for Rex Grossman.  I want to understand what Shanahan's thought process is in bringing in guys like Slow...er, I mean "Fast" Willie Parker and the 87-year old Joey Galloway as speed guys to a team that has no speed.

I would like to see what defensive tackle "Fat" Albert Haynesworth really eats for breakfast.  I'd like to watch him run the 40 in 2 1/2 hours or watch as he sits around and sulks and complains that he's got an ingrown toe-nail and can't practice that day.

I'd like to check out Redskins Owner Daniel Snyder in action.  He thinks the 'Skins are his real-life fantasy football team.  Imagine that ego-maniac with a camera pointed on him.  He'd think he was a star.

I don't want to watch a well-run organization featured on "Hard Knocks" - that would be boring.  Imagine Bill Belichick's boring pep talks ("Let's play hard guys") or Tom Coughlin's press conferences ("Let's take it one day at a time boys.").

I'd rather watch really bad situations magnified on TV.  Think of it as the "Jersey Shore" meets the NFL.

No one wants to see a reality show about a guy that's in bed by 9:30pm and wakes up at 6:00am to go for a run.  Instead, I want to see a guy stagger to bed at 3:00am only to wake up at 7:30am for his job at the pizza shoppe.

That's the Redskins - a soap opera story just waiting to be told!
