Last night, the Minnesota Timberwolves opened up the home portion of their regular season by hosting the Portland TrailBlazers.

The Blazers won, spoiling the home opener, but in the end, it didn't really matter.

What really mattered took place before the game as the team and its fans honored head coach Flip Saunders, who passed away last week.

This tribute includes some of the biggest names in basketball: From Gregg Popovich to Tom Izzo to Steve Kerr and many, many more.

There was also a musical tribute that took place before the game.

Saunders coached the Timberwolves from 1995-2005 before moving onto coach the Detroit Pistons from 2005-2008. He coached the Wizards from '09-12 before going back to the Timberwolves, where he was reunited with Kevin Garnett, a guy that he had the first time around in Minnesota when Garnett was elevated to superstar status.

KG didn't speak on any of the tributes, but he still gave perhaps the most powerful tribute of all:
