Congratulations to Coastal Carolina and Cohoes native Zach Remillard on capturing the 2016 College World Series championship in Omaha, Nebraska.

The Chanticleers beat Arizona by a score of 4-3 after letting a 4-0 lead slip away. Remillard went 0-3 in the win and finished his season at .341. Remillard and company took down NC State in the Regional before beating LSU in the Super Regional. CCU overcame a loss to TCU in Omaha and then lost the first game to Arizona before rebounding to win the final two games of the championship series.

Remillard's career at Coastal is over but he can now start the next chapter of his career: He was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 10th round of the MLB Draft and is now free to sign with the South Siders.

Remillard's brother Will is a member of the Cubs system so perhaps we can get a sibling rivalry in Chicago.
