I think that La Salle High School graduate Zach Remillard has had maybe the best week in local sports history: He was drafted in the 10th round of the Major League Baseball draft by the Chicago White Sox and then helped Coastal Carolina advance to the College World Series by beating LSU in the Super Regional.

The Chanticleers will take on No. 1 seeded Florida in the first game in Omaha. The Gators took down Florida State in the Gainseville Super Regional.

Remillard has 19 homers and 69 RBIs this season and is one of the top offensive players in the entire country.

We spoke with him today about his individual success, going to Omaha, the process of being drafted, and what it may be like one day for him to play in the same city as his brother. His brother Will is in the Cubs system.
