When the College World Series final begins tonight, Coastal Carolina will be taking on Arizona to determine the best team in college baseball.

Why should you care? Because La Salle High School graduate Zach Remillard is the star of the Coastal baseball team.

The Cohoes native has hit 19 home runs this year and is an integral part of the Chanticleers run in Omaha. His big hit helped beat No. 1 seeded Florida in the team's opener and his defensive gem helped Coastal beat Texas Tech earlier in the tournament.

The star third baseman was drafted in the 10th round of the Major League draft by the Chicago White Sox and can sign following the World Series. It's the second time in three years that the Capital Region has had a native playing in the Championship Series. Two years ago, Shen grad Branden Cogswell was playing for Virginia against Vanderbilt. He's a member of the Oakland A's system now.
