Sources close to both the New York Yankees and Brian Cashman are saying that the new contract talks are going pretty well so far.

Yankees general manager Brian Cashman's contract is up at the end of this month.  ESPN's Buster Olney reports that as of right now the contract talks are going smoothly between the two parties.  Cashman could walk away from the Yankees, and other teams are interested in him but he is likely to stay with the Yankees.

Cashman has made it pretty clear that he wants to come back and the Yankees have said that they want him back.  The contract talks have begun, and we could see things concluded by the end of the week.
